School Closure, Thursday 19 and Friday 20 March

18-March-20

It is becoming increasing evident that schools will shortly be instructed to close due to the developing Covid-19 pandemic. To plan for this, I have decided to close the school for pupils on Thursday 19 March and Friday 20 March and use these as the two School Development Days originally scheduled for 25 and 26 May. This is to allow all staff members to prepare home learning advice and resources in the likely event of long term school closure. It will also have the effect of promoting the health and welfare of the school community by reducing the need for social contact. We will communicate further information regarding the school’s plans for next week, during the course of Friday.

During these two School Development Days the school will also make arrangements to supervise the children of key Health Care workers, if required. Please contact me directly on this matter if it applies to you.

As you can appreciate, this is an extremely fluid situation and the decision has not been taken lightly. We will continue to keep you informed of any developments.

If you need to contact me directly, please do so either by telephone at the school, or by email using either stjoesps@gmail.com or the contacts link on the school website.

Kind regards

Mr Donaldson
