Dear Parents/Carers
Following the latest communication from the Minister of Education on Friday, I can confirm that St Joseph’s will continue to provide remote learning at home to pupils rather than face to face teaching in school, until 5 March.
The school will continue to remain open for vulnerable children and the children of key workers to facilitate ‘supervised learning’ but will close for all pupils for mid-term break from Monday 15 – Friday 19 February.
May I remind you that the safest place for children to stay, to prevent the spread of infection, is at home. As such, please be advised that only children who have no other option available to them should attend school. Currently we are looking after around 50 pupils per day and, as a result of the impact of Covid-19 and other demands on teaching staff, we are at maximum capacity.
Payment in lieu of free school meals will continue to be made (by direct payment) to those children entitled to free school meals.
As always, if you need to contact me directly about any of the above, please email me using either stjoesps@gmail.com or the contacts link on the school website.
Kind regards
Mr Donaldson
