News from Home!

This week was Children’s Mental Health Week and lots of you have been taking part in many different activities. The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week was Express Yourself. Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share thoughts, feelings, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good. It is about finding ways that can help you to feel good about yourself, show who you are and how you see the world around you.
Lots of children have been busy this week creating beautiful artwork. Some children from Primary 1B and Primary 5B have been busy doing some amazing baking. Primary 4A chatted about coping strategies for lockdown and children acknowledged positive experiences of lockdown such as acquiring new skills and achievements. Well done Primary 4! Primary 5A have been taking part in guided meditation, and our whole school community took part in “Time to Talk Day” on Thursday. Staff and pupils put down digital devices in an aim to reduce digital deluge. We took the time to talk and chat to one another about our mental health and explored our feelings.
