Yesterday saw the thrilling finale to this year's Mr Ryan Cup. European titans Germany and Poland faced
off in an action-packed final, securing the trophy by a score of 3-0.
Both sides had progressed to the final having come through two dramatic semi-finals. First, the Germans showed nerves of steel to oust old rivals Italy following a penalty shoot-out. The second semi also did not disappoint. The Netherlands looked on course for victory having raced into an early two goal lead, however the Poles had other ideas! Their never-say-die attitude hauled them back into the game and they snatched a last gasp victory with a late goal from Mustafa!
The much anticipated final was full of drama and tension. Three wonderfully dispatched goals eased the Germans to victory and they were presented with the trophy by tournament referee, Danny Allen.
Special awards were also presented to four players (Danton, Caleb, Owen and Marianne), who were selected for displaying good skill and team work throughout the tournament.
A wonderful tournament, well organised and played in the right spirit!
Well done to all the participants and special congratulations to the victors, Germany!
