Dear Parents/Carers
As we begin the 3rd week of Home Schooling, I am pleased to report that our programme of learning has been working well, with positive feedback from parents and teachers. However, to help us to continue improving on our preparation and planning, I would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to complete the following questionnaire https://sdp.wholeschool.ie/stjosephsps_1036246/questionnaire/78d41dd5-8cd6-4785-b94c-d7d1aaa5b84a
This week pupils will continue to receive work up until Thursday 9 April, with lessons resuming after the Easter Holidays on Monday 20 April.
On the school’s website you will find a compilation of resources that you can use to supplement the work already set by teachers. It will be updated and added to with further resources.
I would also like to highlight the ‘Special News’ section of the school’s website, where a selection of photographs and news from home is displayed every Friday. This has been established as a way of keeping the school community connected during this difficult period. If you would like to get involved, please send your news or a photograph to stjosephs.stars@gmail.com.
With regard to Free School Meals, the Executive has agreed to a payment of £2.70 per pupil, per day. Currently, the Education Authority (EA) is preparing to make fortnightly payments directly to the bank account of entitled families.
I am pleased to report that during the last fortnight we have managed to keep the school open, on all but two days, for the pupils of key workers. It is our intention to continue providing this service during the Easter holidays. Many thanks to the staff for enabling us to do this.
If you need to contact me directly, please do so either by telephone at the school, or by email using either stjoesps@gmail.com or the contacts link on the school website.
Finally, on behalf of the entire school community, may I wish you and your family a very Happy Easter.
Kind regards
Mr Donaldson
