Frequently Asked Questions from parents during our first week:

Q. Can I enter the carpark gates and proceed through to the front of the school via the side of the PE Hall?

A. Yes, you may proceed to the front of the school in this way.

Q. Ben starts between 8.45am - 9.00am and Cain starts between 9.00am - 9.15am. Can both boys come to school between 8.45am - 9.00am?

A. No, both boys should arrive at school at the later time slot, 9.00am - 9.15am.

Q. Ben starts school between 9.00am - 9.15am. Can he arrive early and proceed straight to class?

A. No, there s no supervision in class at this earlier time.

Q. If Ben arrives early, can he wait in the school playground until the correct time?

A.No, there is no supervision in the school playground and he should arrive at the correct time.

Q. Where should we go if we arrive late to school?

A. You should proceed to the School Office, using the Holland Drive entrance to the school.

Q. Ben finishes school at 1.45pm and Cain finishes at 2pm. Can both boys be picked up at 2pm?

A. Yes, they both can be collected at 2pm.

Q. Ben finishes school at 2.45pm and Cain finishes at 3pm. Can both boys be picked up at 3pm?

A. Yes, they both can be collected at 3pm.

Q. Are school dinners still available?

A. From Monday 7th September, hot meals for all pupils are available. Dinners will be served directly to children in their classroom.

Q. What belongings should my child bring into school each day?

A. Your child should only bring a lunch box/bag, a water bottle (refills won’t be possible in school) and a coat, all clearly labelled.

Q. How can I contact my child’s teacher?

A. Please contact your child’s teacher directly via ‘SeeSaw’ or leave a message with the office. No written notes should be brought into school from home.

Q.What school uniform should my child wear?

A. Pupils should wear PE uniform on days when PE is timetabled. On non-PE days, pupils may wear either their normal school uniform or PE uniform. There is no requirement to wear a tie until further notice.

Q. What will happen if my child becomes symptomatic in school?

A. You will be contacted immediately to arrange collection of your child and any siblings / household members.

Q. Will I be notified if a member of my child’s class is symptomatic and subsequently sent home?

A. No, you will only be notified if your child has been potentially exposed to an individual in school who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Q. Will I be notified if a member of my child’s class tests positive for COVID-19

A. Yes, you will be notified if a member of your child’s class tests positive for COVID-19. In this case the school will work with the PHA Contact Tracing Service to clarify ‘close contacts’ and provide advice on next steps/self-isolation.

Q. Will I be informed if a child in the school has tested positive for COVID-19?

A. Yes, you will be notified as soon as is practicable, to be reassured that safety measures are being taken and that the school environment is safe.

Q. Should I inform the school if my child has received a COVID test since the return to school, even if it is negative?

A. Yes, it is important for us to have this information.

Q. Can I ring the school office between 8.45am – 9.15am?

A. No one will be available to answer the phone between these times, as all staff are in class or supervising entrance points to the school. Please leave a message at this time.
