This year the children from St. Joseph’s Primary School embraced their love of reading by taking part in the celebration of World Book Day. This was a different World Book Day from many others but that did not stop the boys and girls from making this one just as special.
Everyone at St. Joseph’s are proud of how pupils, parents, teachers and staff have embraced reading and found that books have provided a valuable resource to support our wellbeing. They gave and continue to give us hope, help us relax, make us feel happy and take us to places we could only dream of.
A special mention to Mark Murphy from P4 who has shared some of his very own creative writing with us to celebrate.

Please visit our Gallery to view all the amazing activities the children have taken part in to celebrate the special day! For now, let’s hand over to Mrs McAlister’s class in Primary 3 who are going to tell us all about their favourite books.

The books transported her into new worlds and introduced her to amazing people who lived exciting lives. She went on olden-day sailing ships with Joseph Conrad. She went to Africa with Ernest Hemingway and to India with Rudyard Kipling. She travelled all over the world while sitting in her little room in an English village.”
Roald Dahl, Matilda

In other news, Dennis from Primary 3 has been exploring the world from the comfort of his own home!

Matthew in P7B and Zoe in P5A were very pleased when they completed their Ocean Friends jigsaw puzzle this week. Well done!
