News from Home!

On Thursday 21st May we celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day. Many of you enjoyed a day away from the computers, iPads and pencils to discover the great wide, wild world outside your door! Each Key Stage had a series of activities to complete and we received a great response! Thank-you to Miss McKinney for all her hard work in planning a wonderful day! This was a great highlight this week. We look forward to sharing all the photos, videos and news from this event with you next week on the website!

Have you joined the Clap for our Carers every Thursday night at 8pm? Carys from P2 joined the Clap for Carers with a challenge from her violin teacher to play 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' with a little help from her Dad. Martha from P4 decided to show her appreciation too and sang a song for Jacqui Vance’s NHS Appeal to raise money for our NHS.

A very special girl in P1 also shared some exciting news! Anna won first prize in her Cygnets competition in which she had to make a poster to thank the Blood Transfusion Service. Well done Anna, you are a superstar!

Mr Murtagh’s Primary 5 class have been busy again this week! The boys and girls were using objects from around their house to find fractions of an amount, worked hard on their division with remainders and even found time to make their very own tree houses. Fantastic work Primary 5B!

One boy in Primary 4 has been enjoying lots of time outside. Louis has been feeding the swans and has also been developing his football skills. What a great way to relish the lovely weather we have been experiencing!

Finally, we leave you with Cara from Primary 7, reciting an environmental change poem she composed for a 'Grow in Love' lesson about the Pope's encyclical 'Laudato Si'. Beautiful work Cara!

Everywhere in nature we are taught the lessons of patience and waiting. We want things a long time before we get them, and the fact that we want them a long time makes them all the more precious when they come.
