Greek History Comp is No Tragedy for Aoife!

Congratulations to Aoife from P7B who won a recent writing competition, organised by the Classical Association of Northern Ireland (CANI).

In early March, the P7s took part in a Greek history workshop at The Ulster Museum, orgainised by CANI. Following on from this, the pupils were invited to enter a competition, writing about an aspect of their experience at the workshop.

Aoife chose to create this wonderful poem, which impressed the judges and earned her a £20 book token!

Amber Taylor, Chair of CANI, commented on Aoife's work...

On behalf of CANI, I want to congratulate Aoife on securing first place in our School’s Conference competition! We are so impressed that someone of your age has been able to write such a well structured, eloquent poem (I especially love the very last line!). In coming first place, you have won the £20 book token and a certificate from CANI!

Having won the competition, Aoife has also been asked by CANI to record a recital of her poem for their 'Short Series' YouTube channel.

Well done Aoife!
